Central Market
Summary:
4.1
Central Market had started in 1888 as wet market. Today, it is not just a shopping centre but is also one of the leading tourist attractions in KL. The shopping complex locates itself in the central area of old Kuala Lumpur. It is a market exhibiting the heritage, culture and art inherent in the local Malay, Indian and Chinese.
The three lanes are adjacent and parallel to one another selling goods that are themed according to the races. The lanes are short and each features less than 20 shops.
The retail outlets offer a number of handcrafted showpieces and antiques.
At the side of Central Market is a pedestrian street called Kasturi Walk. You can get things like souvenirs, street food and fruits here.
Central Market is located within 3 mins walk from the Pasar Seni LRT station and this is the most convenient way to reach the building.
