This temple was built in the 1903 by Malayan Railway Employees. This well designed and beautiful Hindu temple attracts devotees from different parts of the city especially during festive occasions of the Hindus. There were plans of demolishing the temple in the year to make way for new developments in that area however perseverance from several devotees as well as minister at that time finally led to the cancellation of the demolition plans. The temple has also undergone some renovations and highly regarded and respected for being an extremely famous Shiva temple of Kuala Lumpur.
