Firstly opened in 1938 at Jalan Sultan (Chinatown) by a Hainanese immigrant, Nam Heong currently has more than 10 outlets at shopping mall such as Mid Valley, One Utama, IOI Mall & Plaza OUG.
The restaurant is well known for its village chicken for its succulent taste and aromatic flavours. In addition, Nam Heong offers a-la-carte dishes to go with their chicken rice. Those dishes include Roast Pork, Spicy Mix Vegetable, BBQ Pork, Assam Fish, Kau Yoke (layered pork meat) etc.
The tender village chicken is garnished with coriander and julienned spring onion leaves. You must dip in the classic ginger and chilli sauce to bring out the extra freshness of the chicken. The rice that is cooked with chicken soup, butter and other special ingredients are so aromatic and together, this is a perfect chicken rice meal you can dream of.
