The Backhome KL offers a boutique hostel to its guests. The hostel is situated at quite a favorable location which lies at a walking distance of fifteen minutes from the Chinatown and 5 minutes to Masjib Jamek LRT station.
The hostel offers a quality and comfortable accommodation in a simple and unpretentious setting. The rooms are average in size but cozy and air conditioned. The hostel is equipped with all the modern facilities to provide a comfortable stay for the guests.
Simple breakfast is available as well. The guests can also avail of the free Wi Fi offered within the hostel premises.
The hostel is housed in a heritage building that is double storied. The building design is reminiscent of the architectural techniques of the early times.
The lobby is a small and cozy area that offers chairs and tables and cots for the guests to sit at leisure. There are desktops offered with internet facilities meant for use by the guests.
The hostel offers a courtyard that is inspired by a green theme. It is both spacious and homely. The long wooden tables create a togetherness feel and the smaller tables are recreated by the old-style sewing machines. The trees in the courtyard add a cool and soothing touch to the environment.
The bathroom facilities are shared at the hostel. They are clean and hygienic and well fitted with modern amenities. Potted plants are placed at regular gaps at the narrow passageway on which the bathrooms stand.
The dormitories are provided with solid bunk beds mounted to the wall so you won’t feel any movement when your neighbours turn their bodies.
There are 4 private rooms as well for the guests who seek privacy. Both the dorm and private rooms have comfort beds and are air conditioned.
The pantry area is moderately spacious and offers a simple set up. The pantry area resembles a homely kitchen with a small table at the center surrounded by chairs. There is a rack full of magazines and books on several topics.
The luggage locker at Backhome KL is rather unique. It is where you can keep your luggage locked and safe. The locker consists of a number of compartments. You can use one compartment for storing your luggage.
LOKL Coffee Co. is a cafe owned by the same boss but managed differently. It offers quality meal along with coffee. It has a small area with simple wooden tables and chairs.
Backhome KL is located within 500m from Masjib Jamek LRT station, a big interchange that connects the Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line. After alighting the station, take a 5-mins walk towards the Chinatown area. At the junction, turn right to Jalan Tun H S Lee and Backhome KL is just a few shops away.

Fadly: We take personalized service very seriously. We’re probably the second biggest hostel in KL, with 68 beds. This sometimes makes it hard to keep things personal. All team members wear badges with their own names. We also set guidelines for our team – they have to ask for a guest’s name, and always try to refer to them by their name.
